The masks we put on to hide ourselves…

This morning I was in skype with Carol, one of my spiritual daughters, and I wrote something about the many layers of masks human beings put on, stuck together in layers, as if on a mission to bury the real you literally out of reality. What a perversion. She pasted a poem by Amado Nervo, the Mexican poet. Her partner had read it to her the night before. It touched my soul so hard, I had to share it with you. I translated it into English for you. Here it goes. Thanks Carol and Moises. You guys made my day.

“Each year puts on your face a new mask. This one joyful; another one, sad; the next one gesticulating and ridiculous.
Each year puts a mask on your face and leaves…

But your Impassible I is only known by the gods,
He knows that he is not the mask; that he doesn’t smile, nor cry, nor gesticulate.

Your I looking at the mirror through the less and less numinous windows of your eyes, tells to himself:
“Here is the new mask that life put on me”… and continues thinking something else.

Many of your masks have been left for a long time in pictures.

They will last more than they deserve. But non of them has ever been the exact expression of your I.

May this teach you to look in men for their internal features, the hidden features.
One day you will be able to say “Here was an angel and I didn’t know”

Amado Nervo

I know that I am on a mission to help people take away one by one off those mask layers with the love and care of self acceptance and get what I call the Ultimate you emerge to the surface and breath! While we archive together the masks in the archives of the past.

Big hug

P.S. The Hawk Mindset does not need masks.
